About Cleveland Cabinets

Macedonia Kitchens, Planned Face to Face

Our Lorain Road showroom is a working cabinet store, so nothing in it is a catalog picture. You can open a drawer, run a hand along a door edge, and hold a countertop sample against it before anything is decided. Most Macedonia homeowners walk in with a phone full of photos and a kitchen that looks fine but works badly. A designer sits down with your measurements, and you leave with a layout instead of a maybe.

Our Services

Our Remodeling Services for Macedonia

Six things we do for Macedonia homes, all handled by one team from the first drawing to the last screw.

Kitchen Remodeling

We handle full kitchen remodeling for Macedonia homes, from the first layout to the final install. That covers cabinets, countertops, lighting and the crew that fits them. One team runs the job from start to finish.

Bathroom Remodeling

We remodel bathrooms across Macedonia, including the half baths that never got touched when the rest of the house was updated. Vanities, tops, storage and tile get planned together, so a small room stops feeling cramped.

Cabinet Installation

If a Macedonia kitchen only needs new cabinets, we supply and install them without touching the rest of the room. Our own installers hang the boxes, level everything to the floor and finish the trim properly.

Countertop Installation

We template, fabricate and install countertops for Macedonia kitchens and bathrooms. You choose the slab in person at the showroom, we cut the sink and cooktop openings, then set and seam it on site.

Laundry Room Cabinets

In a lot of Macedonia homes the laundry room is really a pass-through to the garage. We fit cabinets, a folding surface and closed storage so the pile on top of the dryer has somewhere to go.

Mudroom and Entryway

Most Macedonia families come in through the garage door, not the front door. We build bench seating, hooks and cabinet storage at that entry so boots and bags stop landing on the kitchen counter.

Get Directions from Macedonia
Main Driving Route
From most of Macedonia, work your way to Route 82, East Aurora Road, and head west to the I-271 interchange. Take I-271 north for a short stretch, then follow signs for I-480 west. Stay on I-480 the whole way across, over the Cuyahoga Valley and past the airport. Take the Clague Road exit, go north to Lorain Road, then a short distance east to 19389 Lorain Road. Roughly 30 miles in total, about 35 minutes when traffic is light.
Major Roads and Intersections
Route 82, East Aurora Road, is the main east to west road through Macedonia and the simplest way onto I-271. If you live closer to the Route 8 side of town, Highland Road and Valley View Road both connect across to it. After that the trip is two highways and nothing else: I-271 north, then I-480 west for most of the distance. Lorain Road, Route 10, is the last road you need.
Landmarks Along the Way
You pass the Macedonia Commons plaza on Route 82 on the way out of town. I-480 then crosses the Cuyahoga Valley on the Valley View Bridge, which is a good halfway marker. From there you run past Garfield Heights, Parma and Brooklyn, and Cleveland Hopkins Airport comes up on your left. Once you have seen the airport, you are about ten minutes out.

Kitchen remodeling in Macedonia

The kitchens we see in Macedonia

Most Macedonia kitchens are not short on square footage. They are short on usable storage. A homeowner will describe the room as big and still tell us there is nowhere to put a stand mixer, a stock pot or a tray.

In the newer subdivisions on the east and south sides of the city, the pattern repeats. A wide peninsula splits the room instead of an island. There is a blind corner cabinet that swallows every pan you own. There is a built in desk nook nobody has used in years, and a foot of dead space above the wall cabinets collecting dust.

Closer to Route 8 and the older streets in the Nordonia Hills area, the problem flips. Those kitchens are smaller, closed off from the dining room, and the counter run stops right where you need it. There is usually one door or one half wall standing between the current kitchen and a much better one.

The other thing we hear constantly in Macedonia is that the kitchen opens straight onto the family room. That means the cabinets are on display from the couch every evening. Doors and finishes matter more in that layout than they do in a closed kitchen, which is a good reason to see them in person rather than on a screen.

What we change in a Macedonia kitchen

Storage first, then flow

The first change on most Macedonia jobs is not cosmetic. It is swapping lower shelves for deep drawers. Pots, lids and small appliances stop being buried, and you get back the counter space they were living on.

The blind corner is next. A corner unit with pull out shelving turns roughly two feet of unreachable cabinet into real storage, which matters in a family kitchen where four people open the same cupboard.

Then the layout question. Plenty of Macedonia peninsulas can become an island, which changes how people move through the room and how many can sit in it. Sometimes that needs a wall opened up, and that always gets checked properly before anyone promises it. The desk nook usually goes and becomes a pantry or a coffee station, and the gap above the wall cabinets gets closed with taller cabinets or a soffit removal.

On resale, be realistic. A kitchen remodel is one of the stronger returns in a home, but the version that holds its value in Macedonia is the one that fixes the layout, not the one that only changes colors. Buyers walking a Nordonia Hills open plan notice a working island and a real pantry.

Planning a Macedonia kitchen project

What to sort out before anything is ordered

Start with measurements. Bring the width and depth of the room, the position of the windows, and where the sink and range sit now. A phone photo from each corner is enough for a first conversation.

Permits go through the City of Macedonia. A remodel that moves plumbing, changes electrical or touches a wall will need one. We deal with that side of it, but it is worth knowing early because it affects the order of the work.

Plan for living without the kitchen for a stretch. Macedonia homes usually have a garage entry and a basement, so most families set up a temporary sink and a microwave downstairs and use the garage door as the route in and out while the crew is working.

Come to the showroom on a day you can spend an hour. Cabinets, door styles and countertop slabs are all in one building, so the decisions that normally stretch across three trips get made in one sitting with a designer.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is your showroom from Macedonia?

About 30 miles, roughly a 35 minute drive. Take Route 82 west to I-271 north, then I-480 west across to the Clague Road exit. We are open Monday to Wednesday 12 to 6 pm and Thursday 12 to 8 pm at 19389 Lorain Rd, Fairview Park.

Do you work across the Nordonia Hills area?

Yes. We design and install kitchens in Macedonia and the surrounding Nordonia Hills communities, including Northfield, Sagamore Hills and Boston Heights, along with the rest of northern Summit County.

Can you open up a closed Macedonia kitchen?

Often, yes. Plenty of Macedonia kitchens can lose a half wall or gain an island in place of a peninsula. Whether a wall can come out depends on what it is carrying, so that gets checked before it is promised, not after.

Do I need a permit for a kitchen remodel?

If the work moves plumbing, changes electrical or alters a wall, the City of Macedonia will require a permit. We handle the paperwork as part of the job so you are not chasing it yourself.

Can I get cabinets installed without a full remodel?

Yes. If the layout works and only the cabinets are tired, we supply and install new ones and leave the rest of the room alone. Our own installers do the fitting, levelling and trim.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Rough measurements of the room, photos from a couple of angles, and any ideas you have saved. That is enough for a designer to start a layout with you during the same visit.
