About Cleveland Cabinets

Medina Kitchens, Planned Start to Finish

Our Cleveland showroom is a working store, not a catalog wall on a screen. Medina homeowners usually arrive with a phone full of photos and a rough wall measurement, and they leave with a real plan. You can open the doors, feel how the drawers close, and hold a countertop sample against the cabinet finish you are leaning toward. Design, cabinets, countertops and installation all sit under one roof here, so nobody gets handed off to a different company halfway through the job.

Our Services

Our Remodeling Services for Medina

Six services for Medina homes, all handled by our own design and installation team.

Kitchen Remodeling

Full kitchen remodeling for Medina homes, from opening up a closed off layout to the last piece of trim. We draw the plan, supply the cabinets and countertops, and our own crew installs them.

Bathroom Remodeling

Bathroom remodeling for Medina houses, including the small hall baths that never had real storage. Vanities, tops, lighting and layout changes get handled together instead of piecemeal.

Cabinet Installation

If your Medina kitchen only needs new cabinetry, we supply and install it. Our installers set the boxes level, hang the doors and finish the trim so nothing sits crooked against an older wall.

Countertop Installation

We template, fabricate and install countertops for Medina kitchens and baths. You pick the slab in person, we cut it, and the same team sets it and seams it on site.

Laundry Room Cabinets

Laundry cabinets for the Medina homes where the washer and dryer sit in a corner with nowhere to put anything. Upper storage, a folding surface and a spot for detergent.

Mudroom and Entryway

Mudroom and entry cabinetry for the Medina side doors that take the worst of the winter. Benches, hooks, cubbies and closed storage sized to the space you actually have.

Get Directions from Medina
Main Driving Route
From Medina Public Square, head out to I-71 North using either Route 18 or Route 42, whichever side of town you live on. Stay on I-71 North past Brunswick, Strongsville and Middleburg Heights. Take I-480 West, then exit for Fairview Park and come north to Lorain Road. Turn east on Lorain Road and the showroom is at 19389, with parking in front. Allow about 35 minutes in normal conditions, and give yourself extra if you are heading up during the afternoon rush.
Major Roads and Intersections
Most Medina drivers get on I-71 from the Route 18 interchange on the east side of town or the Route 42 interchange to the north. Fenn Road, Reagan Parkway and Guilford Boulevard are the usual feeders from the newer subdivisions. Route 3 and Route 252 also run north out of the county if you would rather stay off the interstate. Once you are near the showroom, everything happens on Lorain Road, which runs east to west straight through Fairview Park.
Landmarks Along the Way
Coming from the square, you pass the Route 18 retail corridor on the way to the highway. Heading north on I-71 you go by the Strongsville exits and the shopping around them, then the signs for Cleveland Hopkins airport once you swing onto I-480 West. As you drop down toward Fairview Park you are close to the Rocky River Reservation, and the last stretch on Lorain Road is a straightforward run of storefronts.

Kitchen remodeling in Medina

Medina kitchens fall into two rough groups, and they need very different work. The homes close to the square and along the older residential streets tend to have the kitchen tucked at the back of the house, walled off from everything else, with one small window and a single run of upper cabinets. There is usually no pantry at all. The fix is almost always about taking down the wall between the kitchen and the next room, then rebuilding the storage so the room actually holds what a household uses.

The other group is the newer subdivision housing spread out toward Montville, Granger and the streets off Fenn Road and Guilford. Those kitchens are large, but the storage was planned to a builder budget. Deep blind corners nobody can reach, an island that is mostly decorative, and a lot of wasted vertical space above the cabinets. Nothing is wrong with the footprint. The interior of the cabinetry is the problem.

Both situations get designed the same way here. We measure, we look at where you actually stand when you cook, and we build the cabinet plan around that instead of around a standard layout.

What we change in a Medina kitchen

The single most common request from Medina homeowners is more usable storage without making the room bigger. That usually means deep drawers instead of base cabinets with doors, pull outs in the corners, a full height pantry cabinet where a half wall used to be, and taking the uppers to the ceiling instead of leaving a dust shelf.

The second is flow. In a lot of Medina houses the refrigerator sits in a spot that blocks the walkway, or the dishwasher opens into the only path through the room. Moving one appliance and shifting a run of cabinets by a foot changes how the room feels far more than a new finish does.

Resale comes up too, and worth being plain about it. A kitchen that photographs well but works badly does not hold value the way a well planned one does. Buyers in Medina County walk through a lot of similar houses. The kitchen is usually where they decide.

Planning a Medina kitchen project

Start with measurements, even rough ones. Wall lengths, ceiling height, and where the windows and doorways sit. Bring that to the showroom and a designer can talk about real options rather than generalities on the first visit.

Know which permit office you fall under. If your home is inside Medina city limits, the work goes through the city building department. If you are out in Montville, Granger, Lafayette or one of the other townships, it goes through Medina County instead. We help with that paperwork either way.

Plan for how you will live during the work. Most Medina homeowners set up a temporary kitchen in the dining room or basement with the microwave and the coffee maker. It is worth thinking about before demolition starts, not after.

Finally, look at finishes in person and in daylight. Cabinet colors read differently under showroom lighting than they do in a north facing Medina kitchen in February. That is the main reason we keep doors and slabs on the floor rather than in a binder.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is your showroom from Medina?

Roughly 26 miles, about a 35 minute drive up I-71 North and across I-480 West. Plenty of Medina homeowners come on a Thursday, since we stay open until 8 pm that day.

Do you work in Medina Township and Granger?

Yes. We design and install across Medina County, including Montville, Granger, Lafayette, Weymouth and Brunswick, not only inside the Medina city limits.

Can I keep my layout and change only the cabinets?

Often, yes. If the plumbing and appliance walls already work, new cabinets and countertops in the same footprint make a big difference. We will also tell you honestly when moving one wall or one run is worth doing.

Should I bring measurements to the showroom?

A rough sketch with wall lengths and window positions is plenty to get started. We take exact field measurements at your Medina home before anything is cut or built.

Do you help with permits for Medina projects?

We help with the paperwork. Homes inside Medina city limits go through the city building department, and homes in the surrounding townships go through Medina County.

What are your showroom hours?

Monday to Wednesday 12 to 6 pm and Thursday 12 to 8 pm. Friday to Sunday we are closed. Call (216) 353-8600 first if you want a designer free the moment you arrive.
